When a user no longer needs a the smartcard or FIDO2 key, EZCMS gives you two options, one is to remove the user assignment of that key allowing you to re-use that card by assigning it to a new user, or delete the key from the inventory invalidating all it’s certificates and preventing this smart card to be assigned again.

How To Unassign Entra CBA or FIDO2 Token in EZCMS

  1. Open your EZCMS client application.
  2. Login as an administrator.
  3. Select the “Admin Manage Security Tokens”.

  6. Find the Key or Smartcard you want to unassign and press the “Unassign” button. How to unassign FIDO2 key in Entra ID using EZCMS
  7. Now the FIDO2 and Entra CBA certificates are removed from Entra ID and the key is unassigned from the user and can be assigned to a new user.

How To Delete FIDO2 or Smartcard for Entra CBA in EZCMS

  1. Login as an administrator.
  2. Select the “Admin Manage Security Tokens”.

  6. Now the smart card is deleted from the inventory and all it’s identities have been removed from your Entra ID tenant.
